Enginecy Is Bringing Creativity, Technology, and Information Science Together in Tampa Bay
Enginecy‘s story began with Mo Toukhy‘s interest in what happens when creativity and technology intersect. Founded in Tampa Bay in December 2023, the company brings together creative direction, information science, software development, and digital strategy with a focus on solving the challenges businesses face online.
Toukhy began his professional career in Cairo in 2005 before working across Cairo, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Tampa Bay. His work has taken him across more than 35 countries. He served as Senior Art Director at FCB Now BBDO in Dubai and also worked with other advertising agencies on projects including UAE National Day branding and work for the Dubai Health Authority.
His career later brought him to St. Petersburg, where he became Art Director at The Dalí Museum. There, he worked on exhibitions, publications, the Dalí Dome, and creative experiences involving emerging technology. Enginecy has continued working with The Dalí Museum every year since 2023 on projects including annual impact reports, campaign materials, exhibitions, and events.
Toukhy’s background in art direction was later complemented by his studies in Library and Information Science. While creative work taught him how people respond to visual communication, information science gave him a deeper understanding of how information is organized, retrieved, and discovered. Those disciplines became central to the philosophy behind Enginecy.
The company brings creative direction and technology together rather than treating them as separate disciplines. Enginecy’s focus is making businesses easier to find and easier to choose. For a personal injury firm in Clearwater, that meant reaching first position for “personal injury lawyers near me” and appearing in a Google AI Overview for a core practice question. For a Tampa compounding pharmacy licensed in 23 states, it meant reaching page one and achieving a 9.4 percent click through rate, roughly three times the industry benchmark, in about eight weeks.
That focus is also extending into AI search. As consumers increasingly use tools such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews to find information, Enginecy helps businesses build the technical and content foundations needed to be discovered within those answers, not just traditional search results.
Enginecy develops its own software out of problems it runs into on client work, and tests it on its own engagements before it goes anywhere else. Pagerise, Orbis, Voixe and Maestro all came out of that loop. The aim is not to become a different kind of company, but to make two decades of expertise repeatable rather than dependent on who is in the room.
Enginecy has built more than 50 client websites across industries including healthcare, personal injury law, construction, insurance, luxury retail, and professional services. It has also worked with marketing companies including RA Media, GenTech Marketing, Nxtera, and Omni Public.
For Toukhy, that evolution brings together the different chapters of his career. Advertising taught him how to communicate. Art direction taught him how to create experiences. Information science taught him how information moves. Enginecy brings those disciplines together to help businesses build stronger digital experiences and compete for attention in a changing marketplace.
