In a bid to unravel the complex tapestry of history and address the challenge of reckoning with our Confederate ancestors, residents of Tampa, Florida, are invited to an insightful event titled “Florida Conversations: How Do We Deal with Our Confederate Ancestors? The Story of John B. Jackson.” The event will take place on February 28, 2024, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at TECO Hall, 801 Water Street, Tampa, FL 33602.
Resident and esteemed storyteller, David E. Barclay, Ph.D., will take center stage to share a compelling narrative rooted in his own family history. Barclay’s storytelling prowess promises to weave a tale that not only delves into personal ancestry but also grapples with the broader societal challenge of acknowledging and contextualizing ancestors from both the Confederate and Union sides
