In tribute to #NationalVisitACemeteryDay, Tampa Parks and Recreation displayed their unwavering commitment to preserving the city’s cemeteries. The team, assisted by AmeriCorps and Volunteer Florida Green Team members, meticulously cared for these hallowed grounds, removing aged flowers and plant material to maintain their dignity.
Overseeing seven cemeteries with 40,000 burial sites, the small but dedicated team of three, along with a supervisor, showcases their immense dedication. In just four hours each week, they collect about 40 pounds of trash and 10 pounds of organic debris, showcasing their commitment to honoring the community’s heritage.
